How it all began

Originally established more years ago than we wish to remember, as a haulage business by David and Margaret Thompson, son Craig took over the reins in 2005 and has developed Whiteshaw Garage MOT Centre into one of the leading independent garages in Carluke and across South Lanarkshire. As a family business, we’re pleased to be able to give our customers incredibly high standards of work combined with a more personal service and much more competitive pricing than the main dealers.

What we do

We are lucky to have a spacious workshop which allows us to work on all shapes and sizes of vehicles from the smallest runaround to campervans, minibuses and commercial vehicles up to 44 tonnes, and because we invest continuously in our workshop, the equipment and tools that we have are the very latest, including a column-less lift which can lift an impressive 33 tonnes!

And we don’t just invest in tools – it’s great having a really well-equipped workshop but most important is investing in the technicians who work in it, so we’re continually doing training courses (including completing our training to work on electric vehicles for which we are now qualified) to keep on top of our game and to keep learning and improving. It means that we can pass this on to our customers in the form of consistently high standards of workmanship.

We undertake all aspects of vehicle repairs and maintenance including MOT testing for cars and for class 7 vehicles such as larger motorhomes and vans. As well as all the standard services you’d expect, we are also DPF experts and are members of The DPF Doctor network of specialist DPF workshops.

You can find us at 2 Gasworks Road, on the outskirts of Carluke. We’ve got plenty of parking space and a comfortable customer waiting area with complimentary refreshments.
